You may be wondering why I haven’t posted in so long. It’s because I’ve been tote bag-less, Which is sad for me.

But no longer! Observe my newest purchase from that purveyor of fine products, Old Navy! It’s probably not going to last long, but for the price I paid, it doesn’t need to. It’s also supposedly glow-in-the-dark, which I have yet to try. If you’re lucky, I’ll post again with dark pictures!

Ooooooooooh,

Copied from an email to Kurt:

Scott and I had rented a hotel suite in the mountains, I think for a birthday party/hiking expedition. It was a really strange room(s). Coming from the lobby, there was a set of stairs, a hallway, a curving set of stairs, another hallway, and then another set of stairs up to the first floor of the suite. It wasn’t until much later that I realized the room didn’t have a door, which was mostly the problem with the rest of the dream. The first floor of the suite was a kitchen, bathroom and dining area, but there was no walls between these. The kitchen area was tile, the bathroom area was tiled in a different color scheme, and the dining area was basically across from those, next to some huge windows (there was a gazebo outside). The shower was just a spigot coming out of the wall and a drain in the floor. The toilet was up on a small wall projection, next to the stairs up to the loft/befroom. Seriously, the toilet was about ten feet off the ground, facing the huge windows. I’ll have to draw you a picture, because this was seriously weirdly designed room. The loft portion, I just realized, wasn’t actually over there rest of the room, just higher than it.

Other people weren’t supposed to arriving for hours. It’s raining, so the hiking is off, so Scott and I are hanging out upstairs. We realize that it sounds like the shower is running. Scott goes tromping off downstairs and confronts the poor, scared girl who just wandered in the room with no door to take a shower. Upset about the showering girl, Scott goes out to the gazebo to wrap some presents. (what?)

I go to the ten foot high toilet, and while sitting there (the wrong direction I come to find out), three guys come wandering in to check out the place, since there’s no door. I’m high enough that they can’t see me, so I’m torn between yelling at them to get out, or just sitting there and waiting for them to go away. I think they eventually wander out, but I don’t remember because I was too preoccupied realizing that I was sitting on the toilet sideways.

At some point my sister and a few other people arrive. Scott gives us our presents, and it’s writing exercises we did when we were in first grade, nicely bound. Man, I had shitty handwriting then.

Then the garbage trucks woke me up.
What the fuck?!?

It’s a quiet day around work.
Here’s why: Family Mad at Oakland Police After Deadly Chase.

Jessica Castaneda worked at Microgenics. She had been with the company for almost as long as I had. She was an excellent worker and a nice person. She and I weren’t particularly close, but we hung out on several occasions.

It’s so very weird that she’s not around anymore. It’s been a long time since anyone I’ve known has died, and I’d forgotten how empty it feels.

By the way, I found Nicole’s spots PAINFUL this season. God, she’s pretty, but she has the personality of a box. A brown, cardboard box. And Mollie Sue got kicked off for having no personality? What seriously doesn’t help is that they always play a Queen Latifah CoverGirl ad right afterwards. I love Queen Latifah. She exudes personality and spunk. Which makes Nicole seem even more emotionless.

.

..

…

….

…

..

.

Okay, gone yet?

It was definitely sweet justice seeing Jade go in the first half hour. I grudgingly admit that she took amazing photos, and was even learning to soften up (in her photos) a little. But man, that attitude never went away. And the things she would say! Had she won, it would NOT have helped the stereotype that models are dumb. Then again, had she not made it so far, I never would have learned that elephants are in the dinosaur family. Man, even thinking about that now makes me laugh out loud.

After the departure of Mollie Sue, Joanie and Danielle were my favorites, so I was very pleased to see them in the top two. Joanie edged out as my top pick, but honestly, I was glad she didn’t win. As much as I enjoy watching Top Model, I don’t think winning gives you a leg up into the modeling world AT ALL. I mean, have ANY of the other winners from previous cycles made it big, other than some Cover Girl commercials and the “My Life as a Cover Girl” spots during the show?

So perhaps by not winning, Joanie has a chance of becoming a REAL model, and not just a semi-reality show winner. I have my fingers crossed.

Another thing, before I forget. Tyra kept on and on about Danielle’s accent, saying a Top Model must be able to speak. No, a SPOKESPERSON must be able to speak. How many supermodels didn’t even speak English starting out? (I’m looking at you, Gisele.) Aye.

At any rate, congratulations Danielle and Joanie. May you turn out better than the girl who won the first cycle, who no one can remember the name of.
